Fuqua Center for
Late-Life Depression

The Fuqua Center for Late-Life Depression was established with the mission of improving elderly adults access to treatment for depression and providing education to improve public awareness and understanding of elder patient depression in an effort to de-stigmatize and eliminate discrimination associated with mental illness. The Center was created in 1999 following a gift from the J. B. Fuqua Foundation to establish a center for excellence in the treatment of late-life depression.

Together with the Geriatric Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic*, the Fuqua Center provides comprehensive geriatric psychiatry treatment services to elderly patients. Between the two centers a variety of psychiatric services are provided including inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care, peer support, psychotherapy, preventative care and chronic disease management for seniors.
